My Life in California with WEPEX

Well, I bought a new toy this weekend. A Vivitar ViviCam 2000 Digital Camera. I have no need for one, just couldn't help myself. (The fact that they were on sale at Fry's helped, though.)

Note that the quality may leave something to be desired. This may be one of the side effects of buying the cheapest digital cameras available.

NOTE: Since purchasing the Vivitar, I have become disenchanted with the quality. I have since exchanged it for an Olympus D-200 L Digital Camera. As you can see, the quality is much higher, and has fancier options such as a timer to put myself in the picture.

NEW! I have added a new document! You can now check out my room at the Residence Inn by Marriott. Oooohh.

The first image is of the outside of the building where I'm working. I've been working at the Fremont California WEPEX project since November, and am scheduled to be here through June 1998. The only part that is unreal of this image is the strange bright light in the sky. It isn't seen here often.

This next image is of my workspace at WEPEX. Benefits of this assignment include:

These last two images are of the server room here at the WEPEX Network Management Center (NMC). Highlights include the Sun Ultra Enterprise 3000 servers with Sparc Storage Arrays and 8mm tape jukeboxes. (These are in the center of the image.) For comic relief is the patch panel in the upper right...

Finally, we can see a snapshot of the NMC in action. My user community...
